1960s Turkish Oushak Yastik.A yastik is a small rug handwoven with wool on wool foundation in the Oushak region of Western Turkey. The Anatolian plateau is where the weaving of oriental carpets originated. Rich in tradition & pride, each of the villages of the area produced a certain design & colors that neighbors rarely copied. These Antiques were largely illustrated in historical European painting. Their bold geometrical designs and soft colors made them favorites of interior designers.
